Speech Therapy

What is speech therapy?
Speech therapy addresses the child’s ability to develop the speech and language skills necessary for effective communication. The goal of speech therapy is to allow individuals to participate in quality life experiences, including communicating their wants and needs, seeking information, and participating in conversations. It also can be used to address feeding disorders and oral motor deficits.

Speech Evaluations
The 60-minute evaluation is a collaborative process that takes place between the therapist, child, and the child’s caregivers within the child’s home. The therapist will gather important information from the child’s caregiver, observe the child, and if applicable administer a standardized assessment. It is important for caregivers to complete the developmental/medical history form prior to the evaluation to ensure the best evaluation approach for your child.
